Description
The Screaming Banshee is Charlie’s answer to a great skating caddis pattern. Unique forward facing wing allows this fly to skate and skitter unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Flash body with corresponding dubbing thorax and swept back spent wings, this fly will work on the skate or dead drifted for those picky fish up on the bank.

This is a great little fly. I picked some up in the shop last summer. Have been fishing it for wild brown trout on free stone streams in south central Pennsylvania. The back sometimes gets pretty chewed up but the fly still fishes great. Have had great success with both 14’s and 16’s. Great visibility and floats forever!

Tried these on the East River below Crested Butte last weekend. After a couple of productive months the fish have become spooky and tentative as flows have dropped and fish have become wary of commonly productive patterns like a Parachute Adams. They readily hit the Craven’s Screaming Banshee and I’m ordering some more.

I fish the warm waters of South Central Texas, and the Screaming Banshee has been a real winner for me. It works well for sunfish and Guadalupe bass and frequently out fishes the other flies in my box. Yes, it does get chewed up pretty quickly but continues to catch fish even then. It’s rapidly become one of my favorite creek patterns under a variety of conditions.
