Spring 2024 Intro to Fly Fishing Course

Charlie’s Fly Box is excited to be offering an Intro to Fly Fishing Class this summer taught by Max Beauchene. This class is structured for 1st time fly fishers looking to get started this summer, and will be held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30pm- 8:30pm. There will be one day of classroom instruction and one day of casting instruction.
The classroom session will provide beginners with an understanding of aquatic insect life, basic fly fishing techniques, knot tying, rigging, and necessary equipment. There will be a hands-on portion of the class where each participant will have the opportunity to build rigs and tie basic knots. Effective fly patterns and river-specific strategies will also be discussed!
The casting session will be held in the field behind our shop. Demo rods and reels will be provided!
Our first session of the year will be held on the 30th and 31st and our 2nd will be on May 8th and 9th from 6:30 until 8:30pm here at the shop. Cost is $100 and pre-registration is required.
